about

A track I wrote many years ago when I was a teenager in love. Inspired by the rock piano style of Ben Folds who was and still is one of my favourites.

lyrics

Bobbles Clifton - Fluid - Lyrics:

I see blue skies when I look into your eyes.
It's about to rain, I call out your name.
I can't take it, I can't stand to give it out.
And I wonder what it's like to be in doubt.

If I could I'd try to be more than drowned in jealousy.
Cos it's easy to pretend it brings out less than the best in me.
If I could I'd finally find a friend before I flee.
If it's easier to bend at the knee than throw it in the sea.

What have I done? I surrender to your state.
Why Am I numb? When I'm done you can relate.
By your side, how I love my weakness still.
Occupied, now there's no more time to kill.

If I could I'd try to be more than drowned in jealousy.
Cos it's easy to pretend it brings out less than the best in me.
If I could I'd finally find a friend before I flee.
If it's easier to bend at the knee.

When my eyes are open wide I can almost see inside.
After all these years I can't see past my tears.
When you're gone you'll know you are.
It seems you've gone to far.
Not surprised that I'm confused.

If I could I'd try to be more than drowned in jealousy.
Cos it's easy to pretend it brings out less than the best in me.
If I could I'd finally find a friend before I flee.
If it's easier to bend at the knees.

about

I'm an unsigned musician living in Derby, UK. I make music for fun in my spare time. 'That's What I call Bobbles Clifton' is ... more a collection of the best of my stuff taken from 'Looking a Gifthorse in the Mouth' (2008), 'Some Bongo' (2010) and 'Smoke and Mirrors' (2011). 'Kitti's Hog-nosed Bat' is an EP of stuff since 2011. less
